What platform can I trade on for the Practice Account? How do I access it?
The Practice Account is available on TSTrader, which is supported on the web, mobile (iOS & Android), and desktop (Windows & Mac). Download the instructions from here and if you have multiple accounts with us see how to navigate between your accounts here.
The Practice Account is not available on any other trading platform. However, we do offer other trading platform options when you sign-up for a Trading Combine.
I have had a Free 14-day Trial in the past, am I eligible for the free practice account now?
Yes! Everyone is eligible for this practice account except traders who are currently in a live Funded Account trading with TSTrader.
Is the Practice Account eligible for Funding?
It is not. The Practice Account is being set up to allow traders a chance to interact with the markets risk-free. However, since traders do not have any ‘skin in the game’ it will not be eligible to earn Funding. If you would like to earn a Funded Account, you can always purchase a Trading Combine. Hit the green Start a Trading Combine button after logging in here.
What are the rules in my Practice Account?
A little different from the Trading Combine, there is only one rule that will stop you from trading and that is the Daily Loss Limit. If you were to lose more than $1,000 in realized and unrealized P&L (meaning open and closed trades combined) you will be pulled from any open trades and locked out of trading for the remainder of that trading day (until 3:10 PM CT). You will be able to trade again at 5 PM CT when the markets reopen.
From 4:00 PM CT - 5:00 PM CT the markets will be closed, so you will not be able to place any trades or get out of current trades during those times.
Your maximum position size on the account is 5 cumulative lots. If you were to buy 3 contracts of ES (Mini S&P) and sell 2 lots of CL (Crude Oil) you will not be able to purchase any additional lots.

Can I reset my account?
You cannot, however you are welcome to continue to practice on the account through the end of the 30 days.

I am currently participating in a Trading Combine with Topstep, am I eligible for the Practice Account?
Yes, Trading Combine participants are eligible for the free practice account.
I am currently a Funded Trader with Topstep, am I eligible for the Practice Account?
Any Funded Traders using a platform other than TSTrader is eligible to participate in the Free Practice Account. If you are currently a funded trader and working on TSTrader we recommend using the Market Replay feature to practice.
When will this offer end?
This offer ends on April 17th, so we encourage traders to take advantage of this as soon as they can!
My login credentials aren't working. What should I do?
Your TSTrader platform login is the same one you set up on TopstepTrader. If you are having issues logging in, click here to reset your password for both our website and the TSTrader platform.
What should I do if I receive an error while trying to place a trade?
- Are you trading a permitted product? Are you in the correct contract month?
- Have you exceeded your $1,000 Daily Loss Limit for the trading day for your Net P&L? This can be checked in the top section of your platform.
What if I exceeded my Daily Loss Limit but I want to keep practicing?
Your trading account will unlock so you can continue trading when each new trading day begins at 5 PM CT.
When does my Practice Account end?
Your practice account will close 30 calendar days after the time you received your confirmation email. Once you request to have the account begin it will start. We do not have an option to pause the account or delay it once you request it. Each trader is able to receive one practice account in total.
